Product Evaluation
The selection of flooring products for our portfolio is a rigorous exercise. We consider the carbon footprint and other environmental impacts. The design and performance requirements of busy commercial projects also have to be met.
Principles
We strive to behave in the way that every responsible company should - to be a catalyst for change - driven by clear business principles.

Be transparent
Objective information is the antidote to flooring industry greenwashing. We advocate the development and publication of independent, 3rd party product verification, carbon footprints and other environmental measurements.

Tread Lightly
We minimise our company carbon footprint by keeping travel impacts to a minimum - working remotely as a preference and making essential travel by public transport wherever possible - and employing digital communication.

Push for Change
We take a proactive role in making the transition to a post-oil flooring industry by sourcing of the widest portfolio of renewable alternatives supported by a programme of education and advocacy.
Our
Purpose
The flooring industry needs to change. Around 90% of UK commercial flooring is oil-based, single-use, and non-biodegradable. And, because the average commercial floor is replaced every 7 years, flooring carbon footprints are exceptionally high.
The reasons for this lie in the structure of the flooring industry, which is dominated by large industrial conglomerates established at the height of the Age of Oil. So, reliance on petrochemical plastics lies at the heart of their business models.
The carbon reductions required in response to the Climate Crisis cannot be achieved by tweaking the 'business as usual' model. The scale and urgency of the environmental challenge require a more radical approach.
A rapid transition away from oil-based plastics is becoming an urgent necessity. We are committed to playing a leading role in this process, supporting architectural, design and construction professionals.
